Recipe ingredients:


The dough:


1/2 cup soft butter

1/2 cup powdered fine sugar

2 large eggs

1/2 teaspoon soft cardamom

1 teaspoon liquid vanilla

2 cups flour


Fillers:

400 gm dates paste

1 teaspoon smooth cardamom

1 teaspoon cinnamon

For the top layer:

2 tablespoons of date molasses

2 tablespoons sesame


How to prepare:


1. In the bowl of the mixer, put the butter, sugar, set the stirring paddle, and start the mixer on medium speed to combine the ingredients.

2. Add eggs and vanilla to my work until the eggs disappear.

3. Add the flour and cardamom, and cook for a few minutes until a smooth and homogeneous dough is formed.

4. In a plate, put the dough, cover it with a piece of nylon, and put it in the fridge for 15 minutes.

5. Preheat the oven to a temperature of 180 m. Bring short rimmed trays.

6. Filling: In a deep dish, put the dates, cinnamon and cardamom. With your fingertips, rub the dates well to mix.

7. Put a piece of butter paper on the table, put the dough on top, put another piece of butter paper on the dough, using the rolling pin (rolling pin), roll the dough into thin.

8. Put a piece of parchment paper on the table, wipe the paper with a little oil, put the dates on the butter paper, and put another piece of parchment paper smeared with oil, using the rolling pin to roll the dates into a thin layer.

9. Using a 1 inch round cookie cutter, cut the dough into circles.

10. In the same slicer, cut the dates.

11. Take a piece of the dough with the tip of your finger and wipe it with a light layer of molasses.

12. Put a piece of dates and wipe it with a light layer of molasses, then put a piece of the dough on the dates, and press a little to stick.

13. Wipe the maamoul with molasses, spread the sesame seeds on the surface of the maamoul, place the maamoul in the trays, leaving a space between the piece and the other.

14. Put the trays into the oven for 8-10 minutes, until the maamoul becomes golden in color.

15. Leave the maamoul in the trays until it cools completely.

16. On a serving dish, put the maamoul and serve.
