The problem of migraine is one of the frequent complaints every Ramadan, specifically during the day in Ramadan, for many, because of fasting, and it is a sudden pain in the head, and it is also normal; Given that everyone is accustomed to a daily routine, whether in eating food or drinking water and liquids, as well as consuming stimulants such as drinking cigarettes or caffeinated drinks such as tea and coffee.

Sleep disturbance may also be during Ramadan, one of the factors that cause a headache, and this type of headache is harmless, but it causes distress and discomfort.

Among the ways to prevent headaches during fasting:

1- Drink plenty of fluids. Like water and juices, at a rate of two cups every half hour.

2- It is advised to gradually reduce drinking coffee and smoking before fasting days, so that this does not cause headaches and other health problems.

3- Not to eat too much at breakfast. Because it may cause an increase in blood sugar, and thus cause headaches, so it is recommended to include breakfast; By taking it in several stages instead of all at once.

4- After breakfast, complex carbohydrates (such as whole grains) with a low glycemic index will increase blood glucose levels and provide longer-term energy. By avoiding simple carbohydrates such as pure sugar, you avoid a rapid rise in blood sugar levels, followed by a rapid drop. It may trigger a headache.

5- A cup of strong coffee before the start of the fast will reduce the risk of caffeine withdrawal.

6- You should avoid feeling thirsty while fasting. By consuming enough fluids during meals because dehydration causes headaches.

7- Maintain a consistent routine during Ramadan, and avoid lack of sleep.

8- If the headache becomes uncontrollable, or reaches a severe stage, it is recommended to seek professional medical advice to exclude other causes, and people who suffer from migraines may also need another treatment during the month of Ramadan.
