the month of Rajab

It has appeared on us these days; A great month, one of the sacred months. Which God Almighty has commanded to glorify it, to adhere more to His religion and law, and to honor it; Then the Almighty said: “Indeed, the number of months with God is twelve months.

In the Book of God, on the day He created the heavens and the earth, four of them were sacred. That is the right religion, so do not be unjust.

And therein are your souls” [Al-Tawbah: 36]. It is proven in the two Sahih books on the authority of the Master of Messengers, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: “The year has twelve months; Among them are four sanctuaries; Three consecutive days: Dhul-Qa’dah, Dhul-Hijjah, Muharram, and Rajab Mudar, which is between Jumada and Sha’ban.

And he was told: Rajab; Because he was expected; That is, it is venerated and added to Mudar, because the Mudar tribe increased their veneration and respect for him. He has other names that indicate his honor.

It is obligatory for a Muslim to know the value of this sacred month. This is because knowing Him and glorifying Him (is the valuable religion), meaning: the upright one. In which there is no crookedness, error, or deviation.

He must also beware of sin in him; It is not like sin in anything else; Rather, the sin in it is greater, and the sinner in it is sinful. As God Almighty said: “They ask you about the sacred month, fighting therein.

Say, fighting therein is great” [Al-Baqarah: 217]; That is: a great sin and a serious crime.

It is like injustice and disobedience in the forbidden land. About which God Almighty said: “And whoever inclines therein to atheism or injustice, We will make him taste a painful punishment” [Al-Hajj: 25].

One of the clearest indications of glorifying this sacred month is staying away from injustice to man himself.

By committing sins and bad deeds, and committing sins and sins; This is because sin is always evil and bad for the one who commits it.

Because it is a presumption against God, Glory be to Him and the greatness of His authority, but in the sacred month it is worse and more ominous.

Because it combines arrogance against God Almighty, and belittling what God Almighty has glorified.

In this month, it is recommended for a Muslim to do abundantly and regularly do what is proven in the Sunnah on all days of voluntary acts of obedience.

Such as prayer, fasting, alms, and other acts of sacrifice, while maintaining the obligations and duties, but it is not prescribed to single it out as an act of worship, or to believe that it has superiority in this month over all other acts of obedience.

The fact is that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not legislate it for us, nor did his honorable companions, may God be pleased with them. Among the rulings of Rajab are the prayers, zakat, fasting, and Umrah mentioned in it. As for prayer:

no specific prayer specific to it is valid in the month of Rajab, and the hadiths narrated about the virtue of the Raghaib prayer on the first Friday night of the month of Rajab are a lie and falsehood and are not valid, and this prayer is an innovation according to the majority of scholars, and among the notable scholars of the late Hafiz scholars is Abu Ismail.

Al-Ansari, Abu Bakr bin Al-Sam’ani, Abu Al-Fadl bin Nasser, Abu Al-Faraj bin Al-Jawzi, and others, but the predecessors did not mention it because it was created after them, and it first appeared after the four hundred; Therefore, the predecessors did not know it, nor did they speak about it.”

He said: “As for fasting: nothing has been authenticated regarding the virtue of fasting in Rajab on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, nor on the authority of his companions.” Then he said: “As for zakat: the people of this country - meaning: the Levant - are accustomed to paying zakat in the month of Rajab.

There is no basis for that in the Sunnah, and it is not known from any of the predecessors. Then he said: “As for performing Umrah in Rajab: Ibn Omar, may God be pleased with them both, narrated that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, performed Umrah in Rajab, but Aisha denounced that to him while he was listening, so he remained silent.” [Athar Aisha] ' Bukhari in his Sahih)].

The month of Rajab is one of the months in which injustice and fighting are forbidden, and many prophetic hadiths have been reported that indicate the virtue of commemorating some of the nights of this month.

The month of Rajab is considered one of the months that witnessed the greatest miracle in Islam, which is the miracle of the Isra and Mi’raj, which comes on the twenty-seventh day of it, when the Prophet Muhammad was taken on the journey from the Sacred Mosque to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and when the seven gates of heaven were opened and the chosen Prophet ascended through them, to see the great signs of his Lord.

And other important matters associated with this good, blessed night, which is still engraved in all of our minds. O God, bless Rajab and Sha’ban for us, and let us reach Ramadan, and we are in safety, security, safety, and Islam. Oh God, Amen, Amen.

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and may God’s blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and all his companions.
