Um Ali dish is one of the most famous Egyptian sweets, known since the Mamluk era, and the Um Ali dish is made in this way, and today we offer it to you in a different way
Ingredients:
- Croissants: 6 pieces (butter flavored/ready)
- Almonds: 1/2 cup (crushed)
- Walnuts: 1/2 cup (crushed)
- Coconut: 1/4 cup (grated)
- Raisins: 1/4 cup
- Butter: 1 tablespoon (melted)
- Milk: 3 cups (liquid)
- Sugar: 1/2 cup
- Cream: 1/2 cup (whipped)
- Pistachios: 1/4 cup (or crushed walnuts or almonds / for decoration)
Preparation method:
- Heat the oven at 180°C.
- Cut the croissants into small pieces and place in a large bowl.
- Add to the bowl almonds, walnuts, raisins, coconut and butter and mix well with your hands until the ingredients are mixed.
- In a saucepan, pour the milk and place on medium heat until boiling.
- Add the sugar over the pot and stir until dissolved and then turn off the fire.
- Pour a little milk mixture into a heat-resistant glass dish.
- Spread half the amount of croissant mixture in the dish.
- Pour half the milk over the croissant mixture.
- Add the remaining amount of croissants and pour the remaining milk on the face of the dish.
- Pass the whipped cream on each dish.
- Insert the dish into the oven for 20 minutes and then place under the oven grill for an additional 5 minutes until the face of the dish acquires a golden color.
- Garnish um Ali's dish with nuts as you wish and serve hot.
