1 package of lasagna sheets
500 grams of minced meat (beef or lamb)
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 finely chopped onion
2 cloves of minced garlic
800 grams chopped tomatoes (canned or fresh)
2 tablespoons tomato paste
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
500 grams of ricotta cheese
250 grams of mozzarella cheese (cut into slices)
100 grams parmesan cheese (grated)
How to prepare:
In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and stir until it softens, then add the garlic and stir for a few more minutes.
Add the minced meat to the pot and stir until browned. Next, add the chopped tomatoes and tomato paste, followed by salt, pepper, oregano and basil. Leave the mixture on low heat for 20-30 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Meanwhile, cook the lasagna sheets in boiling salted water according to the instructions on the package, then drain them and spread them on a clean towel to dry.
In an oven tray, start arranging the layers: put a layer of meat sauce, then a layer of lasagna slices, then a layer of ricotta cheese. Repeat the process until all ingredients are used up, finishing with a layer of meat sauce.
Place mozzarella cheese slices on top, then sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the lasagna tray for 30-40 minutes or until the cheese melts and browns.
Take the lasagna out of the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
Enjoy your delicious meal of Italian lasagna!
