Drying fruits using the oven:

** If you are drying non-acidic fruits, immerse them in orange or lemon juice diluted with water for several minutes, because vitamin C prevents the fruit from turning brown, and you can also steam the fruits for a while to speed up the process.


** Arrange the fruit slices in a single layer on a tray and place parchment paper or a piece of cotton cloth underneath, making sure to leave space between the pieces.


** Preheat the oven to 170°C, then place the tray in the oven.


** Leave the door slightly open to allow the steam to escape.


** Follow the fruit and make sure it is dry by touch as the texture of the fruit should be dry and not spongy.


** After about 6-12 hours in the oven depending on the type of fruit, take the fruit out of the oven and let it cool then store it in an airtight container.


2- Sun drying:

This method requires very hot weather.


** Wash all the fruits well and cut them into equal pieces, and try to cut them into thin slices, so you can dry them faster.


** Place the fruits in a tray over a piece of cloth, and place the tray directly under the sun.


** Turn the fruit once a day and do not leave it outside overnight, for two consecutive weeks.


** Collect the dried fruit pieces and place them in an airtight container

One kilo of figs

We put them in before night so that the dew will not come on them and they will spoil. Then they are placed for an hour or two in an oven at a very low temperature of 70 degrees. Don’t worry. Because the oven is working as if it were sunlight, this means that if we put our hands, we will only feel a very slight heat, which is what is required.

When it comes out of the oven, we leave it to air for the second day on the kitchen cupboard for the second day. We repeat it until the figs dry. If you follow the steps, they will turn out excellent and will dry in four days. If you put them in the oven every day for two hours, they can be put in the oven for only three days for the first two days, and this is very important for their success.

3- Dried banana:

You can dry strawberries in the sun without the need for any special tools or equipment, as fruits that contain sugars can be dried in the sun easily as follows


Prepare a reflective surface on a net that allows air to pass through, and you can use sheets made of tin or aluminum as a reflective surface to reflect heat and speed up the strawberry drying process.

Make sure that the drying net is made of stainless steel, and avoid using a net made of aluminum because it changes the color of the fruit, and you should also avoid using a net made of copper because it increases the oxidation of the strawberries.


Cut the strawberries into slices about half a centimeter thick, then place them on the drying net and leave spaces between them, and make sure that the net is clean.


Cover them with a piece of cotton cloth to protect them from dust and insects, then place the drying rack under the sun for 3-6 days until they are completely dry, and do not forget to turn the strawberry slices between the second or third day.


5- How to thin the pears:

Ingredients


1 kg of solid plums


1 number of gauze


2 liters of boiling water


10 grams of lemon salt


2 liters of ice water


How to prepare


1- In a pot on the fire in boiling water and lemon salt, put the plums in gauze and close the gauze well for 6 minutes and take it out of the hot water and into the ice water for 6 minutes.

Ingredients needed for drying pineapple:


2 large pineapples or 4 small pineapples.


How to dry pineapple:
